Christmas RASes / 195th DS

Not much mail came this month but a whole lot of Christmas cards did! I put them all together in one nice big post. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year folks!

Received: 01.12.2016

This year's Christmas stamps, I'm not really a fan of them.

What a cheerful snowman! I really like how the snowman was made along with the background, very cute :D

Received: 05.12.2016

This stamp was issued last year, I ended up buying a booklet of these myself when I took a short road trip to Lyalta

This was from a surprise Christmas FB game; another nice card! I guess after the kitty took down the tree, this is all the tinsel that fell on it? :P

Received: 06.12.2016

Didn't expect to have it sent from the US, very nice festive stamps

A nice and vintage looking card; the cool thing about the card choice is the horned owl. The Great horned owl is Alberta's bird but the sender is also from Alberta.

That gleam is from the little bag I put the card in, the card had some glitter falling off it. I'm not much of a glitter fan to say the least.

A lovely Christmas card from my friend in Japan. I love the colours used in this, it's both cute and gives a sense of warmth.

With a cute card, comes a cute cancel :)

Here's a simple German lesson on a card, here you can see all these festive items and what they're called in German! This cute card was sent from a friend in Germany and also one of the owners of the "Papersisters." I really love their cards! For some reason I can't seem to link the English version of the site.

An excellent and festive postmark! It seems that some postage was owing, funny though because I sure count 90 eurocents...

The last card to make it before the big day, I'm surprised the little gems on it managed to not get lost on the way here

The first official to arrive in awhile, this poor and shiny card must have gotten lost for a bit since it nearly expired.

So many cards! This is from the "NA taking out the Trash x4" but I received 2 cards extra, how nice!

Received: 20.12.2016

This was an interesting card, it's a small shaped card meant to looks like a cat's paw or as the sender said, a muffin!

An old postage paid card from 1966, USSR

This view, looking west, shows the Venice Jettys and Intracoastal Waterway. This waterway separates Casey Key to the north from Venice to the south.

Today I learned there is a Venice in Florida.

Some more great stamps, a shame the Colorado stamp didn't quite make the trip

'You mean after all this time, we could have been friends?', 1962

Some good selection from the "Taking out the Trash x4" tag, it's amazing what you can get sometimes.

A Miyazaki classic!

"Prada Epicenter Wallpaper (4)," Graphite & Digital, 186" x 15.5", 2007
James Jean

I'm surprised the stamps weren't cancelled, it's great to see a complete(?) set here too!

RAS :0

Another cute RAS, that's quite the car lol

Received: 13.12.2016

This surprise was sent from Scotland (heh) Here is the previous post made earlier about Scotland

Ellerslie, PEI

The location doesn't really match, but when I saw this card in a travelling envelope, I knew I had to have it. I'm surprised there isn't a Charlottetown postmark (they're probably is though...) but at least it was in the same province.

Received: 02.12.2016

The postmark came out very poorly unfortunately, this is what it was supposed to look like.

Scotland, ON

Not very Scottish I'm afraid, but it sort of gets the point across? The cancel is brilliantly clear, since this was issued (or reissued) it should easily be around for the New Year :)

Received: 02.12.2016

Chatham, ON

A fitting cancel for a fitting postcard, luckily I have another copy of this card since it's rather hard to part with.

Received: 01.12.2016

And thanks to the magic of time travel, this cancel will also be available in 2017!

Winnipeg, MB

When I found out there was a Winnipeg cancel (yo Calgary, you gonna get one or what?!) I was surprised to find out there was 2 cancels! Since this isn't listed on the website, here is the address that I sent to:

1000 - 266 Graham Ave.
Winnipeg, MB

The little spider was on there when I got this card :P

381st Tag

Received this from the tagging game on FB, I was looking for anything space related. Though it wasn't what I was expecting, it is still a pretty cool card.

Received: 28.11.2016

Only a day? That's a new record!

194th DS

Some more swaps coming in, this one from Germany. The card says: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Very cute :D

Cordoba is a city located in the geographical centre of Argentina, about 700 km from the city of Buenos Aires. It was founded in 1573 and is well known for the oldest university in the region and many churches.

This is an honourary new member to my city sign collection. This card made by the sender is my first from Argentina. I had sent my first card officially to the sender and he had agreed to swap with me. I couldn't be happier! Many thanks :D

Received: 24.11.2016

A very cool variety of stamps, I also learned that Argentina is one of the few countries that also uses a mix of letters and numbers in their postal codes.

380th Tag / Eckville, AB

From one of the FB games, I had to get it because it is a bit of a puzzle. Have you figured out what this poem is saying? I'm also wondering if the hand gestures themselves mean anything, perhaps sign language?

Received: 24.11.2016

A much better view of the new Eckville postmark

That's the CP location in Eckville, if you haven't guessed ;)
